About this book
Robinette Broadhead is rich, and he has a lot to feel guilty about. In sessions with his robot psychiatrist, he talks about how he got there: he won a lottery that took him to Gateway, an asteroid full of ships left by the vanished alien Heechee.
The ships fly themselves, and no one knows where they will go. A prospector can become rich if he comes back from a trip with something valuable, and many don't come back at all. A Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel and the first in the Heechee saga.
