About this book
The novel opens with a prologue, "The Dream of Earl Aubec", set long before Elric's birth, in which Aubec is sent by his queen to capture the castle of Kaneloon. It then moves to "The Dreaming City", the story that first introduced Elric and his world.
Elric tries to rescue his betrothed while destroying the City of Dreams, the seat of the power from which his family ruled Melniboné for centuries, and his plan runs into complications. A book of four stories compiled as a novel, the third in the Elric saga by Michael Moorcock.
