About this book
Sooz is nine when a malignant griffin lands in Midnight Wood near her home. It has preyed on the village's sheep and goats for years, but now it has started to kill children.
Sooz sets out for the castle of King Lír, and meets Schmendrick and Molly Grue, from The Last Unicorn, on the way. They wake Lír from old age and weariness and persuade him and his unicorn to kill the griffin. A novella set in the world of The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle, winner of the Hugo and Nebula awards.
