About this book
Ray Shackleford is a stereo repairman who is grieving his father and watching his marriage fall apart when he finds himself able to hear music that was never recorded. Music from Jim Morrison and the Doors, from Brian Wilson's lost Smile, and from Jimi Hendrix comes through the speakers, and Ray finds that he can record it.
Each album takes him into the lives of its makers, and into his own past. A fantasy about rock music, regret and second chances that won the World Fantasy Award.
